How to make a pop up box card

Good evening everyone, hope you are enjoying the long weekend.  I have been catching up with some DT work and playing with all some inkiness, all of which I will show you over the next few weeks.  Just wanted to show you this pop up box card made with Papermill coloured card in various flowery colours.

Pop up box cards are very popular at the moment, wherever you look there are so many in different sizes and subjects.  For all of you who want to have a go but don't known where to begin I have put together a tutorial showing you the basics for making one of these very addictive shaped cards, you can find it HERE on the Papermill blog.

I used Papermill coloured card in pastel colours, baby pink, daffodil yellow, new lilac and spring green for the base and the flowers.  The sides were covered with digital papers from Pink Petticoat printed onto Papermill white linen paper, Memory Box dies and a computer generated sentiment.

Off again to finish what I started this morning, I have the grandchildren for a few days and I'm sure they will help me.  Sophie has already asked for some card to make a guitar, goodness knows what she will come up with!!  Hope to get some commenting done this evening and check out what you have all been up to this weekend too.

Good morning blogland, friends, followers and passers by.  Feeling a bit better but the cold germs are lingering and I don't feel like doing much at the moment.  Fortunately I made my DT cards for this week's Papermill offer before the bugs got me.

Check out this fabulous offer, A4 plain white 265gm card.  I stamped and spritzed onto mine and the results were great.  Three box sizes available and a great price.

A4 Plain White Card 265gm
Small Box (80 sheets) £5.00
Midi Box (260 sheets) £13.50
Mega Box (645 sheets) £32.50

Here are my DT cards using the Papermill plain white card, Papermill teal card, Stampendous agapanthus stamp, freebie word stamp from Indigo Blu  and a selection of Paper Smooches stamps.  I used Ranger distress inks, distress markers and a distress marker spritzer for the backgrounds.

Not a long post today, will be trying to catch up with some commenting and crafting this afternoon, looking forward to seeing what you have all been up to.

Sapphire Blue card offer

Good morning everyone another lovely day here  will be a lovely day to get out in the garden and tidy things before the summer.  Been a bit under the weather this week the grandchildren brought me their cold germs and were very generous sharing them around.  Not to worry I'm too busy to let a little cold get me down.

This week over at the Papermill there are two offers, a special offer on the beautiful sapphire blue card my DT samples feature and a fantastic 10% off all orders over this weekend.
Check out this beautiful 200gm Sapphire Blue card, great value at £4.00 for a Small Box, in the Special Offer section at Papermilldirect

I used the sapphire blue card as a mat to show off this pretty bestie digital image from sherri Baldy.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and cut out using a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and mounted on a doily.  Die cut embellishments were added and a greeting.  The dies  are from Memory Box and the greeting stamp from Darkroom Door.  The flowers were coloured with distress ink, some netting and a ribbon added then it was layered onto Papermill new lilac card and a white linen card blank.  I haven't entered a challenge in ages so am entering this into the My Besties UK Challenge

The above card was cut on the Silhouette using the Papermill sapphire blue card and raspberry pink card for the insert. The sentiment, a Crafters Companion sentiment set, was stamped and cut out to fit in the circle on the cut out area and a Memory Box butterfly added.  The card below was made using the cut out bits from the main card. A bit fiddly but I was pleased with the results.

Not done much else this week, one or two things to finish before Sunday so hope to be back soon.

Sweet Things Are Made Of This

Good morning blogland, it's a lovely day here today, bright but still a little cold.  Busy day today as I have the grandchildren again this weekend so I am up bright and early to let you know what the Papermill have on offer this week.
Check out this beautiful 230gm white leather embossed card, great value at £5.00 for a Small Box, £13.50 for a Midi  Box and  £32.50 for a Mega Box.

I made the cover of this photo album with this lovely textured card, adding some coloured inserts using Papermill coloured card.

I used Indigo Blu square peg round hole and Oak House Studio clematis corner stamps, coloured the stamped area with distress inks and fussy cut out.  The flowers were stamped twice and layered  to give a 3D effect.  The panel was fastened over a ribbon for fastening the album closed.

Just for fun I made a cowboy boot using the white leather card, decorated with Papermill post box red, light turquoise, daffodil yellow and mocha brown.  The boot was cut on the Silhouett using a Lori Whitlock cutting file.

Another Lori Whitlock cutting file was used for this note book with pen holder.  The white leather card was coloured with distress inks and a Memory Box flower die added.  You can really pick out the leather embossed pattern on this photograph.

That's it for me for a few days, will be back next week with some more inky things I have been working on this week.

Blowing in the Wind

Good morning to my new followers, followers and friends, today I have my DT card for the Crafty Blogers Network May Challenge.  The theme this month is "Pink and a Ribbon" and this month's sponsor is Art By Miram, the digi images are fabulous pop over and take a look at the shop at Etsy Art By Miran.

Here is my card using the "Wind Blown" image, pink and green and some ribbon.  Check out the challenge and the other DT inspiration here.

I used Papermill white linen card to print the "wind blow" image and coloured her with Promarkers.  The card base was cut from baby pink card and embossed with a Sheena Douglass embossing folder, a piece of spring green card was also embossed and layered with baby pink and the coloured image.  I used a flower die from Memory Box and some punched tiny flowers to make the blossom tree, tied a knot in the ribbon and threaded it through a Chinese lucky coin, this was added to the green layer.  The sentiment, a free stamp, was added with a spray of blossom.

All card used is from Papermilldirect, there are some beautiful colours available, the pink and green were just what I needed for this "Pink and a Ribbon themed card.

Hope you are all enjoying the long weekends, hope to be back soon with my take on Tim's tags April and May.

Q and L Challenge - Knowledge and Hurt

Wow these fortnightly challenges over at The Craft Barn are passing so quickly, we have "knowledge" and "Hurt" as the key words this fortnight.  Hurt was an easy one, lots of 60s songs about being hurt and broken hearted!  Knowledge was a little harder, I came up with a Diana Ross and The Supremes number from their album Let The Sun Shine In.

Here they are "The Composer" by Diana Ross and The Supremes written by Smokey Robinson, released in 1969 as a single and featured on their album Let The Sun Sine In, and "Anyone Who Had a Heart" by Cilla Black 1964 which charted at No1 in the UK, written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

This card was stamped and white embossed with a bird cage and music, music tape added and the background coloured with squeezed lemonade and evergreen bough.  Added some black stamping, a little stenciling and the lyrics.  Picked the yellow and green as my son informed me they were good colours for learning and stimulating the mind, fitted well with knowledge.

This card was covered with fairly thick white acrylic paint for some texture, added two Memory Box dies (chloe stem) were added and painted over them again with acrylic paint, the background hearts were a stencil I made myself.  The large heart was coloured red, covered in Cromer Crackle and when dry rubbed with silver treasure gold.  The lyrics were added and a small heart to finish off.  The background was coloured with distress inks in broken china, the hearts fired brick.

If you haven't done so yet, check out the Q and L challenge at The Craft Barn, great fun you can do journal pages, ATCs, postcards, anything.  So go on take a look and join in.

Thoughts Of Holidays By The Sea

Good evening everyone out in blogland, it has been another miserable dull day here, what has happened to the sun!   Here I am again with another fabulous offer from Papermilldirect and a few holiday themed cards to cheer us up.   Using this week's Special Offer Navy Blue Linen card and a little post box red and sky blue I made these nautical, seaside themed cards.

Using a Marianne die and various Spellbinder dies I created this round card.  The Marrian die was backed with post box red card and the navy blue linen and white hammered card circles were layered on top.  The image is from Pinkpetticoat, "Beach Huts", there are also some sailing boat images with this set too.

From the scraps left from the die cutting I made the scrapling card, printing the beach hut then fussy cutting another image and placed it over the image using sticky pads.  The images were coloured with Promarkers.

My last card uses the navy blue linen, sky blue and white linen card, a little string and a sailing boat charm from my stash.

I added inserts to the cards using Papermill white linen paper printed with the image and a greeting.

Check out the other Design Team Members blogs for more ideas using this beautiful card, they are:
