Fairy Princess and A Lovely Light Plum card

Another special offer from Papermilldirect this week, a lovely 160gm light plum card at £4.50 for a small box.

This card and gift box were made for my granddaughter, a very girly girl who loves pinks and purples.

They were cut out using the Silhouette Cameo and a Silhouette Store cutting file.  I used the special offer plum card with white linen and grey for the card, and plum and ice cream pink (which was a special offer card a few weeks ago) with daffodil yellow for the crown and wand.

The Papermilldirect Design Team blogs are below, check out what they have made this week:

Catching up on Tim's Tags

Hello friends, followers and blogland.  Life has been very busy recently with my OH being ill and having to take him for regular hospital visits and treatment, on top of having the grandchildren stay for the last two weeks.  I spent a few hours crafting yesterday evening and managed to catch up with Tim's 2014 tags, what fun I had getting messy and de-stressing.  Here are June and July's tags, August's tag is still work in progress.

I made two tags as I wasn't happy with the first background but they both looked fine when finished.

Loved trying out the different techniques, especially on the sea horse tag.  The sand effect turned out better than I though as I didn't have any distress embossing powders or the correct coloured glitter.

Still Time To Get Stamp Of The Week And to Enter This Month's Challenge At Oak House Studio

Good afternoon everyone, quiet reigns now the grandchildren have gone, they have been staying with grandma for the past two weeks so not much crafting for me.  We did do some painting and Sophie made some tissue flowers after this it got rather messy as they decided to make some magic potions which involved water, paints and glitter.  The potions were tested on my poor plants with no effect, but with the help of some Oak House Studio inks in a bottle the leaves turned very colourful and sparkly, their little faces were a picture when they discovered them the next day.

Here is an art journal front cover created using Oak House Studio inks and stamps, including this week's stamp of the week "Clematis Corner", still time to pick this up at half price if you are quick.  Don't forget the Oak House Challenge either, open until the end of the month with a theme of "Alphabetica" - words, numbers, letter etc. the enjoy what you do stamp would be ideal for use on your alphabetica cards.

I used the clematis corner and the enjoy what you do word stamp and a selection of inks in a bottle and pigment inks, all from Oak House Studio.  A little white acrylic paint and some texture pste through a stencil.  The Artist Journal stamp is from a stampers anonymous set.  The book was a bargain from my local stationers  and has a hand made paper covering giving the finished cover a soft felty look.

Off now to work on some more DT samples I need to get on with and try catch up with some commenting and checking out what everyone else has been up to over the last two weeks, back soon xx

Just a quick post to remind you the Oak House Studio Challenge, which is "Alphabetical", runs until the end of the month.  Letters, Numbers or words are required on your entries, details can be found here on the Oak House Studio blog.

As well as the challenge don't forget this week's Oak House Studio stamp of the week "Country Garden Words", this is half price until next week, you can find it here in the shop. The background on my card was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder then coloured with  inks.  A die cut card was layered over the stamped background and the "Large Rose" was stamp, embossed, fussy cut and covered with glossy accents before adding to the card.

Below are two more DT cards for the Alphabetical challenge, a fun card for all you chocolate lovers, stamping card, inks, sentiment stamp  from Oak House Studio.  The chocolates are a Silhouette Store cutting file, cut on the Cameo.

White linen scrapling, rainbow coloured thank you and die cut butterfly.  Again all the stamps and inks used are from Oak House Studio, English Country Garden background stamp and thank you stamp from script sentiments stamped with different colours of pigment ink.

Thank you for looking and many thanks for all your lovely comments on my previous posts.

White Wonders - Stock up on a selection of fabulous white card

Good afternoon followers, friends and anyone out there passing by my blog post.  This week's Papermill offer is A4 pearlised antique white 300g, a small box (approx 75-80 sheets) for £7.50.  There is also a chance to win a lucky dip pf stunning Petal-Lu hand made flowers, check it out HERE.

Here are some design team cards featuring white card from the Papermilldirect Essentials Range.

This CAS card was created using white linen card from the essentials range, stamped with a freebie stamp and backed with teal coloured card.

Another white linen card, stamped with Oak House Studio flowers and circles stamp set, without change sentiment stamp and a selection of Oak House Studio rainbow coloured pigment inks, dotted with a few Memory Box butterflies.

White linen card again, stamped, coloured with distress stains and inks and even some texture paste, mounted onto black card.  I was amazed how well the card stood up to all I threw at it.

I did some cards using the smooth white card which is another fabulous card for stamping and colouring in my Crafty Bloggers Network post if you want to see how it looks. The essentials range of cards comes in whites and creams and textured to plain, they can be found HERE.

Check out what the rest of the team have been up to, their blog links are below:

Oak House Studio Alpha Challenge

Another month has flown by and I am at the end of my three month with the fabulous Oak House Studio Design Team. There is a design team call to cover the next three months, so send your details to Lynnda before the end of the month if you would like to apply, details can be found HERE on the blog.

There were some lovely entries in last month's Happy Ever After Challenge and I hope to see you all back with your creations for this month's challenge which is Alphabetical, use words, letter or numbers on your entries.   Here are a few of my August DT sample.

Two cards using the same stamp and style.  I used the fabulous Oak House Studio double daisy stamp, a solid backing flower, yummy chocolate pigment ink and ink in a bottle in blues and yellows.  The sentiments were digital downloads from pinkpetticoat.

I lined the cards with white linen paper and stamped some flowers inside using Oak House Studio pigment ink pads.

Using the scrapling and scraps of coloured and stamped card I put together this butterfly card.  The butterfly and sentiment can be found HERE in the Oak House Studio shop.

Again the insert was stamped to add detail.

I hope this has given you some inspiration to join in the challenge this month, details HERE and on the Inkspired by HOS  facebook group.

Summer Fun over at Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge

Morning everyone, today I have my DT card for the Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge.  Our sponsor this month isJust Some Lines Digital Images and the theme is Summer Fun.

I couldn't resist this cute image, she looked to me as if she was being blown away on a summer day and enjoying the journey, hence the sentiment.  Using Papermilldirect smooth white card as a blank I embossed the top and bottom with some free embossing folder which came with a magazine.  I then coloured the sky, grasses and middle with distress inks, coloured the image with Derwent watercolour pencils and the background with distress inks.  The image was mounted on blue Papermilldirect card.  The sentiment was stamped onto the banner fussy cut and coloured with distress inks before adding to the card.

Here is a card card using another Just Some Lines image, this cute little girl with a present behind her back, again coloured with Derwent watercolour pencils and fussy cut before adding to the card.  I made a card blank using Papermilldirect bright orange card and the background was created using Oak House Studio inks in a bottle citrus orange and lemon splattered onto pearlised card.

And last of all this lovely mermaid image, thought mermaids should be green so they can hide in the weeds with the seahorses.  Image coloured with Derwent watercolour crayons, perfect pearls and glossy accents added.  The seahorse was a leftover from trying out Tim Holtz July tag (still to finish the tag when I have time).

Come on over and join in the Summer Fun at The Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge this month for a chance to win a Just Some Lines voucher to buy some of their fabulous digi images.

Oak House Studio Design Team Call

Hi everyone in blogland, Oak House Studio have a Design Team Call out at the moment, this will be for three months September, October and November.  Check it out here and on the facebook  page Inkspired by Oak House Studio .  Fabulous stamps and materials to work with, I have really enjoyed my three months with them and would recommend it to anyone looking to join a design team whether you have done DT work before or not.

More great news from Oak House Studio, for the next few week there will be a special offer on "Stamp Of The Week".  For one week (or until stocks run out) you can get the stamp of the week at a reduced price.  This week's stamp was Pansy Pot but unfortunately this sold out very quickly but next week's stamp has been brought forward so pop over to the shop and check out the Circles and Flowers stamp set which you can get for half price for the next week.

The Pansy Pot will be back in stock soon, it is a fabulous stamp and I used it for the main element and as a background on my card.  The background was created using the faux batik technique - stamped in clear embossing ink and embossed with clear powder, coloured with Oak House Studio pigment inks then the embossing removed using kitchen paper and a hot iron.  The main image was coloured with a mixture of Oak House Studio bottle inks ans pigment inks.

This is a quick scrapling I made using a white pearlised card cut off from a square card.  The circle dies were stamped using Oak House Studio pigment inks, lemon yellow and golden yellow.  The button stamps are from the A Stitch In Time stamp set and the sentiment from the Large Spring Blooms set, all available in the Oak House Studio shop.

A Rainbow Of Summer Colours

Hi everyone, my Design Team projects for Papermill Direct this week use an array of fabulous summer colours, bright orange, raspberry pink, pale turquoise, dark violet, daffodil yellow, and ocean blue.

Summer Colours Save 10%
Middi Box £21.60

Using the gorgeous rich dark violet card I made a jewellery presentation box, this beautiful colour shows off the beautiful hand made glass beads a treat (hand made glass beads made by my son).  The box was cut on the Silouhette and decorated with a silver embossed swirl and silver ribbon.

Summer fun with daffodil yellow, ocean blue, raspberry pink, lime green and dark violet.  A Prima Doll was stamped, paper pieced and fussy cut before adding to this bright summery card, the sentiment, sun and doll are from the Prima Marketing "Sunshine" set.

Retirement deckchair card and special day butterflies using a selection of colours, deckchair a free stamp and the special day sentiment from Crafter's Companion Sentiment Swirls set.

Last of all lime green and ocean blue to go with my Stitchy Bear Digi frog.  I coloured this image last month and though he needed a matching lime green and ocean blue background.  Promarkers were used to colour the image which was printed onto Papermilldirect white linen card, although my colouring wobbled a bit on froggy's arms I love this image and just had to use him.

So there we are, lots of ways to use the Summer Sale colours, why not visit the rest of the design team and see what they came up with.
