I Love You Valentine Card

Hello friends, followers and passers by.  I have a CAS  valentine card for you this weekend using white linen card, a digital sentiment and flicked ink.

I like to get in front with my cardmaking whenever possible and have been making one or two birthday cards for friends and family this week, as well as this clean and simple Valentine card for my other half.

The love sentiment was printed onto papermilldirect white linen card, two small hearts were die cut and coloured with distress ink then stamped over in black ink with a free stamp (daisy with words), these were then edged with gold foil.  Using a rectangle die I cut out the sentiment panel, masked off the sentiment and flicked gold, red and black ink over it and added three sequins.   I cut out a larger panel, glued the love panel to it then fastened this to a card blank with 3d sticky pads.

Love, Dream, Live Valentine Card

Hi everyone, another Valentine style card from me today over on the papermilldirect blog.  I have been sorting out my craft room and found this inky background, I don't know why it didn't get used I just love the mix of colours.  It was created on shiny card with alcohol inks and cling film.

The heart was embossed with a 3D embossing folder, coloured with distress inks and rubbed over with Treasure Gold gilding wax.  The heart was fastened over thin jute twine with 3D sticky pads and a sentiment was stamped underneath in black ink.

The inky panel was attached to a square of teal card then the panel was attached to a white linen card blank. I cut an aperture from a square of white linen card and fastened it over the inky panel with 3D sticky foam pads.

All card except the shiney background card is from papermilldirect.  Pop over to the papermilldirect blog for more details of the materials I used to make this card.

Embossed Heart Anniversary Card

Good morning friends, followers and anyone passing through.  I have been using 3D embossing folders with inks and Treasure Gold gilding wax this week making Valentine and anniversary cards.

This card was made for friends using papermilldirect white linen card, a 3D embossing folder (bought last year and used for the first time), distress inks and gilding wax.  Details of how I made the card and the materials used can be found over on the papermilldirect blog.

I love white linen card for anniversary, wedding and valentine cards, it looks so clean and crisp, embosses and takes inks well too.

Three weeks into the new year and I am keeping my promise to use the things bought last year but not used yet, not to mention all the goodies I got for Christmas!  Off into my craft room after posting this to try some more things out.

New Year Thank You Notes

Hello, Sylvia here with my weekly papermilldirect DT make.  Now Christmas is over I have been taking time to make a few note cards for friends and family thanking them for my Christmas presents.  I used permilldirect ready made card blanks which are ideal for this, just add a background, sentiment and embellishments and you have a quick, easy card.

I made some inky backgrounds using odd pieces of white hemp and cream hopsack textured card, distress paints, stencils, gesso and distress oxide inks.  I had a major accident when the top came off the silver paint and flooded over the blue background, my desk and workspace.  I quickly scraped off as much as I could off the background and managed to use it on the cards,  but the rest of my desk suffered a little with silver spots and splodges.

The inky backgrounds were cut down to fit A6 co-ordinating coloured card blanks.  Stamped and die cut sentiments were added and some backgrounds were matted onto contrasting card before attaching to the card blank. I added a white paper insert to the cards ready for writing my message.

I used the following materials to create the backgrounds and make the cards:

Happy New Year 2018

Good morning friends, followers and any family popping in to read my post, back after my Christmas break to wish you all a very

"Happy New Year"

Have you made any New Year resolutions this year?  I don't usually but I am determined to clear my craft room this year and use dies, stamps and embellishments which have not been used since I bought them.  Here are two New Year cards using dies bought last year with papermilldirect card blanks and some fabulous sparkly card.

Materials used:

To make the above card I used the bubbles die to cut out two areas from the black card blank.  The front of the card was backed with silver sandgrain card, a sparkly gold and a white star layered over the bubbles then the cheers sentiment added.

This one is a quick make using a square navy card blank.  The stencil numbers were die cut and  attached to a square of navy card.   The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with gold powder and the panel layered onto amber sparkle card then attached to the card blank.  An amber lustre print paper insert was added to the card.

Papermilldirect card blanks come in various sizes and colours and are great for all your cardmaking needs.  These two designs can be adapted for any occasion by changing the colours, sentiments and card shape.

Again wishing you all a very happy, prosperous and fun New Year.
