Live Your Life In Colour

Today I have a quick card featuring the "Live Life In Colour" stamp set from Inkylicious, and trying out my new distress oxide inks.  My grandaughter is mad on zebras so this was an ideal stamp to use for her birthday card.  I thought I would practice a few ideas before making one for her, here is my first creation.

I used papermilldirect white linen and smooth black card with distress oxide inks for the colour, layered onto a white hemp card blank.   The image and sentiment were stamped  onto a strip of card and  masked before adding the inks, the inked strip was spritzed with water and the ink allowed to run a little.  On reflection I will stamp over the coloured strip next time to enable the image to stand out more as the oxides covered the image more than original distress inks would.

The image was layered onto smooth black card and then added to a white hemp card blank.  The remaining sentiment was stamped inside the card and a coloured strip added as for the card front.

Off  to play some more with this fun stamp.

New Home, New Address Cards

Hello friends, family and passers by.  Today I have a couple of personalise change of address cards to show you using free digital images  from Craft Stamper Magazine, April 2017 and September 2016.

I used papermilldirect value white card 300gsm for a clean crisp look and coloured the images with distress inks, adding interest with stencils and glossy accents.

This is a quick card for batch making, the image and computer generated sentiment were printed directly onto the card blank,  a sheet of the images was printed and coloured, cut out and attach over the blank image on the card.  For an even quicker card the image printed on the card can be coloured and decorate.

An Apple For The Teacher

Hi everyone, the end of the school year is nearly here and I have been playing around with a couple of teacher thank you cards.  One card in two colours cut on the Silhouette and one using stamps and an embossing folder.

I cut the two cards from papermilldirect white linen and buff cardstock and cut the apple from scraps of post box red and mid green cardstock.  The square insert was stamped with a Hero Arts Thanks stamp.

This layered card was made using papermilldirect white linen, Lustre Print Gold Magenta and spring green cardstock to match the stamped image.   The green card was embossed then rubbed over with a white ink pad to make the numbers pop.  I stamped three apples and leaves from the Clearly Besotted An Apple A Day stamp set and the sentiment from Dark Room Door in green and coral ink.  The image and layers were mounted onto a white linen card blank.

I am loving being back in my craft room, lots of work on my desk this weekend including some Gelli Plate background cards and a tutorial.  Back next week, see you then xx
