Black and White Wordy Birthday

Hello friends, followers and passers by.  I have had a great week in the craft room and have managed to make lots of cards and used some of the bits and bobs I found clearing out my craft room.

I recently bought a few block word stamps from Crafty Individuals and used the smaller birthday panel for this CAS black and white card.   I stamped two black on white and two white embossed on black card panels and have a few ideas to try these out.  I also stamped out the larger word stamp onto white and  buff coloured card and will be making them into cards next.

I used one of the white stamped panels for this card, mounting it onto black card and adding three black stars.  Three postal stamps were stamped onto a white card and the word panel attached  centrally using 3D sticky pads.  I also stamped the postal stamp onto the insert.

Materials used:
I haven't entered any challenges for years and am going to try fit a few in this year, I will be entering this card into the Allsorts Challenge where this week's challenge is Black and White.,  and Lost Coast Portal To Creativity challenge Say What??

Thank you for popping in today.

Easter Card and gift

Hello friends, followers and family popping in.  Today I have a rabbit Easter card and box frame gift using papermilldirect's beautiful Lustra Print pearlised card.  I made the frames for an easter raffle at my mum's care home.  I love this large intricate die which would make ideal pictures for a child's bedroom or nursery, especially if the child's name is added.

I picked pearlised pink and cream pearlised card to make up my die cut picture to match the pretty light pink frames.  The rabbit was cut out from the center of a square of pink and cream card, I used both the positive and the negative die cuts to make up the picture.  The cream rabbit was layered onto the center of pink card and the pink negative was layered over it using 3D foam pads, the second frame used the contrasting colours cream background and pink rabbit.

The Easter card was simple, the die cut rabbit was fastened to the card and a sentiment added with three blue pearls, a pearl was added to the rabbit's eye too.

Materials used:
As an afterthought (after I took the photos) I added a pearl eye to the rabbits in the frames.

Large Blooms Wreath Easter Card

Hello everyone, I'm here with an Easter card today using the Sizzix large flower die.  The flowers and butterfly were die cut from card and vellum, the veins on the flowers embossed and the vellum butterfly was stamped using the matching stamp.   Using my Silhouette I cut out a wreath with leaves to attach the flowers to.  A sentiment was printed and cut out using a small die.

The wreath and leaves were attached to a square white card blank, the flowers and butterfly were assembled and added to the wreath and lastly the sentiment attached.

Materials I used:
This card could be made for any occasion by altering the sentiment.

Easter Egg Wreath Card

Hello friends, followers and passers by. This weekend I continued on with the craft room re-organisation and am pleased to say it is nearly done, just a few boxes to sort and some pictures to hang and that's it.

Inbetween clearing out my stash I have been making Easter cards and have a few to show you over the next week.  Today I have an Easter wreath card using lovely pastel coloured card and a Silhouette cutting file - Easter Wreath by Miss Kate Cuttables.

Materials used:

The peach coloured card used was a papermilldirect special offer card from last year which I had in my card box, unfortunately this is no longer available but  I just had to use it as it is such a pretty colour.

Pop over to the papermilldirect blog to find more Easter inspiration from the papermilldirect design team.

Organising My Embossing Folder Designs and Techniques

Hello everyone and welcome to my new followers.  Today I have details of my papermilldirect monthly DT tutorial which can be found on the papermilldirect blog.  As I find it difficult to find the right embossing folder to use in my cardmaking the tutorial shows how I made a tag book of my embossing folder designs.

I am in the middle of re-organising my craft room and sorting out all my stash.  The furniture has been moved to give me more work surface, boxes sorted and card and paper boxed and grouped into colours.  I still have lots of stamps to sort and may do a similar tag book for them,  one for each individual stamp company or type of stamp.

I tried out different techniques on some of the embossed tags and labeled each with its name and make. The materials and details of the techniques I used can be found on my papermill blog post.

Thanks for popping in, and for all your lovely comments which are much appreciated.

Mother's Day Cards

Hello everyone and welcome new followers.  I have been working outside my comfort zone this week making a few Mother's Day/birthday cards.  Although I love cards with floral decoration I have always found it difficult to use grouped flowers and leaves on my cards.  Recently I bought a Sizzix large flower die and embossing folder, I bought it to make a wreath with Spring colours but also wanted to use this in my cardmaking.

The sentiment was foiled onto a square of papermilldirect white linen card.  This was layered onto an embossed square of  papermilldirect Dark Violet plain card and then onto a white linen card blank.  The large embossed flower and leaves were positioned at the lower right hand side of the card and sequins and pearls added.

A second card was made using a tri-fold card.  An aperture was die cut from the front of the card and the flowers  flowers and leaves added, a foiled sentiment was added to the inside fold.  To add interest I embossed the inside of the card before adding a printed sentiment.

Materials used:

I enjoyed playing with the large flowers and will be making the wreath next.  The flowers have been cut out using a wide range of colours so I have plenty of flowers for my future projects.

Cool Dude 9th Birthday Card

Good morning everyone, today I have my papermilldirect DT post, a birthday card for a nine year old. a fun card using a variety of papermilldirect plain and textured card, Tim Holts mini cats and dogs stamps and Sizzix dies.  I sometimes find it hard to make cards for younger children but fun stamps like these make it a little easier.

I stamped one of the dog images, balloon, sunglasses and a bow tie onto a scrap of hopsack card, coloured them with distress oxides then used the matching dies to cut them out.

A star die was used to cut three rows of stars from the center of the buff card, the sentiments were stamped and a white embossed star added to the center with a stamped and die cut number 9.

The buff card was added to a square of white linen card then to the yellow card blank.  The glasses and bow tie were added to the dog and glossy accents added, when dry the dog was added to the card with 3D sticky pads.

Details of dies and stamps used can be found on the papermilldirect blog here.
