New Year New "Show Us Your Twinchies Challenge"

Hello all you lovely blogland ladies, here we are in a New Year with lots of new challenges to get our teeth into.

The Show Us Your Twinchies Challenge theme is "ANYTHING GOES" the challenge starts today 5th January through to 4th February, lots of time to get creative and you can enter up to 3 twinchies if you wish.   Here are some of the ideas I came up with for the DT,  check out the other DT twinchies here.

My first twinchies were inspired by Christmas and New year with lots of celebrating going on, first  was a clock and fireworks very New year.  The Big Ben clock, a digi from Digi Stamp Boutique, was printed onto the twinchie,  I drew fireworks using a versamark pen and embossed with clear powder.  The background was coloured with chipped saphire distress ink using a blending tool, the clock face and windows were coloured lemon and clear embossed, and a little glitter was added for sparkle.

The next idea was party animals, these cute monsters took my fancy I thought they were well up for a party!

And don't forget the conga, here we have party, New Year and animals in this one!

Moving on to something different, using a new stamp "Looking Glasses" from the papermania Urban Stamps range, I stamped the image with black Stazon ink, clear embossed it and coloured the background with tarnishes brass and antique bronze distress stain.  The glasses were highlighted with  tarnished brass using a paint brush.  The clock and cogs twinchie (shown above) was stamped but not embossed and carefully coloured round the clock face with antique bronze stain.  I stamped and clear embossed a second clock face, cut it out and coloured with tarnished brass stain. the clock face was attached with sticky pads and a few clock parts added for interest.

Come on ladies, come and join us and let us see your "Anything Goes" twinchie ideas!

New Year Drinks

Challenge 99-100 has been open over the Christmas period and closes today, this is a last minute entry because Christmas and New Year were so busy.  The Less is More Challenge is a recipe "DRINKS", very appropriate for the festive season!  I am also entering this card in the CASology challenge "NEW".

I am entering one on my New Year cards, I've only just got round to doing them and sending them out, I think I managed to wish everyone a Happy New Year but still like to send out some cards.

All my New Year cards are very minimalistic, this one is a digi download from Pinkpetticoat's Lola Rose Celebrations (not sure if it is available anymore), the image has been coloured with watercolour pencils and the greeting computer printed when I ran off the image.

The day is very dull so the photos are not up to much, lets hope for some brighter weather in 2013!

Happy New Year to you all

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hope you all had a super day and 2013 brings you all you wish for. Had a wonderfully quiet New Year's Day, relaxing, crafting and searching the web for things to buy with my Christmas money.  I have ordered some stamps and a book on zentangle, thought I would explore sketching/zentangle this year and am determined to try art journalling.

Looking forward to joining you in some of the new challenges this year, can't wait for the Craft Barn's next challenge it sounds very interesting.
