Triple Flip Flap Swing Card

Good afternoon everyone, today I have a flip flap swing card using papermilldirect's special offer natural white cardstock and  post box red.

I used two Silhouette cutting files one for the flip flap card and one for the red embellishments - Flip Flap Card Three Circles and 4 Borders both by Lori Whitlock.  The main card was cut from natural white cardstock and Docraft Papermania All Aboard 6" x 6" papers were used to cover front and inside panels and post box red card for the embelishments.

These are not the type of cards I would usually make but I did have fun making them.

Bon Voyage - Enjoy The Journey

Good evening  to my followers, friends and family, bon voyage/travel cards are not something we make very often and it is great to get out those arty stamps and go overboard, or just keep it clean and simple with a few die cuts when making them.

Papermilldirect special offer light grey and 300gsm white silk cardstock was used to create these two cards.  The light grey cardstock stamps beautifully and cuts easily in the die cutter, the white silk is ideal for card blanks, a lovely weighty card. 

I cut a piece of light grey card 14cm x 14cm and stamped the elements from the Artful Voyage stamp set using cornflower blue ink, the cruise liner was masked before stamping the text.  The compass was stamped onto light grey, ocean blue and daffodil yellow cardstock and fussy cut for layering over the compass on the card.  The stateroom part of the stamp was stamped onto ocean blue cardstock with black ink and layered onto the stamped image to give the contrast.  Lastly the bon voyage sentiment was stamped in black over the cruise liner.

My second card is clean and simple with lots of white space, it uses papermilldirect special offer white silk cardstock for the card blank, light grey and ocean blue cardstock for the die cut words and arrow embellishment.

Materials I used: 

• Papermilldirect 300gsm white silk, light grey, ocean blue and daffodil yellow cardstock
• Stampers Anonymous Artful Voyage and Clearly Besotted Good Times II
• Ranger Archival ink pads in cornflower blue and jet black
• Sizzix Alterations die artful arrows and Sizzlits decorative strip artful words
• Spectrum Noir pen in crimson

Another Rainbow Project For the Take 5 Challenge -

Good morning friends, followers and family popping in.  Today I have another Take 5 project for this month's rainbow colours challenge.  I have been inspired recently by the beautiful colourful creations I have seen around using masses of different sized butterflies to make a swathe of colour on projects and cards.  This is my take on this theme using two Oak House Studio butterflies, a small die cut butterfly, Oak House Studio pure colour chemistry inks and pigment ink pads.

I coloured a piece of paper with bright coloured pigment inks using an ink blender and added a little stencilling for interest.  This was glued onto a wall plaque to make the base for my butterflies.  Using pure colour chemistry inks I sprayed seven pieces of Papermilldirect white card with bright rainbow colours ready for stamping.  Two sizes of the Charming Butterfly stamp were used to stamp butterflies onto  each of the inked cards using co-ordinating pigment inks.

The butterflies were fussy cut and one large and one smaller layered together.  I die cut a smaller butterfly from each of the colours and over stamped them with the butterfly stamp.  

A die cut banner was coloured with pigment inks and stamped with the Without Change sentiment.  I added the sentiment to the bottom of the plaque and placed the butterflies  round it and up to the top of the plaque in the rainbow colours.

I only used two Oak House Studio butterfly stamps but the new butterfly bundle stamp set has a variety of butterflies and the sentiment you could use to give more variety.
