Hi everyone, hope you are all surviving the terrible weather, not a bad day here in Somerset although the water levels are still rising. Another two weeks are speeding by so it is time for me enter my postcards for The Craft Barn Q&L Challenge, the words for this fortnight are Strong and Miss. Not easy words as I don't want to do all sad songs with tears and heartache. Lots of music came to mind but either too early or too late for the 60's, in the end I went with "That's How Strong My Love Is" by Otis Reading from 1965 (the original version was by O V Wright 1964) for Strong and "Have I The Right" by the Honeycombs, their debut single which went to No 1 in the UK charts in 1964 for Miss.
Watercoloured rainbow background, Tim Holtz stencil and Sheena Douglas Willow Tree stamp.
Distress ink, Tim Holtz honeycomb embossing folder and stencil, die cut hearts and Googled lips.
Off now to amuse the grandchildren - Sophie wants to make a secret diary what a good way to use up my paper scraps (I have boxes of A5 paper which have been hiding in my cupboard for years).
Two fabulous Tags with great quotes, great colours and stencils used, fabulous lips! :-) xxx

ReplyDeleteLovely postcards and quite different. I am very envious that you can think of any songs with the words in let alone narrowing it down to the 60s. you are going to ave a stunning collection of postcards at the end of the year.

I'm late visiting, but had to get here before the next challenge. I like the idea of postcards as the substrate, and I adore the fact you used both words in your art. Great texture in the second one, too. Really awesome art you have created.
