One Card Two Ways

Morning all, another week and another super offer over at Papermilldirect, this week it is their fabulous A4 off white pearlised card.  I use Papermilldirect pearlised card for my wedding stationery and special anniversary cards I love it.

Here are my DT samples for this week using the Paprmilldirect special offer pearlised card and gorgeous teal card from their coloured card range, along with some patterned paper from Docraft.  Again I used the Silhouette Cameo and a cutting file by Jamie Cripps.

One card, two ways.  I like how reversing the colours on your cards can give such different effects.  Above the off white pearlised card is  the main colour with a plain buff string embellishment, and below the teal colour is the main colour using red string to contrast with the patterned paper.

Using the remaining scraps of card I made the butterfly scrapling which can be used as a card or gift tag.

Plain Smooth Ivory Card and Pretty Pink

What fabulous weather we are having at the moment, hope you are all enjoying it.  I had a great holiday and have come back relaxed and looking forward to getting out the crafting I put away two weeks ago.  Today I have just one card made with this week's Papermilldirect's special offer, a lovely plain ivory smooth card.

I made this card before I went away and used the Silhouette Cameo and some pretty colours from Papermilldirect's fabulous coloured card range.  I do love getting messy and trying out new techniques but when in a rush the cutting machine does a fabulous job in a reasonable short time.  I used the special offer smooth card with mocha brown, raspberry pink, baby pink and spring green card.  All the card cuts really well on the Silhouette.  The striped paper was from my stash, it matched the raspberry pink card so well.

Sorry I Frogot your Birthday

Hello to friends, followers and passers by.  Another month and another challenge over at The Crafty Bloggers Network. This month we have a bingo card, you just pick the line with the items you want to use,  I chose Line A for my bottle tag. Our sponsor this month is Stitchy Bear Stamps and the image I chose was "Flirty Frog".

I made this wine bottle tag for a belated birthday greeting.  This fun image was coloured with Promarkers, the wine tag was cut from Papermill white linen card using a Spellbinders die for the bottom edge,  a plain green paper with a computer generated sentiment and a little distress ink stenciling was added to the tag.  The image and tag were cut using oval dies (X Cut I think!) and added to the tag with some twine to finish off.  Pop over and see what the other DT members have created with their choice of images from Stitchy Bear.

Shades of Blue

Good morning all, again I have scheduled this post as I am holiday and hope Google is playing nicely.  Here are a few DT samples for the Oak House Studio Challenge which starts today until the end of the month, the theme is "something blue".  Pop over to the blog and check the challenge out and join our happy band of followers on Google or facebook while you are there.

My DT samples all use Oak House Studio Inks In A Bottle, Pigment Ink Pads and the wonderful Oak House Stamps, which can be found HERE in the shop.

Three tags using different techniques, wash and stencil, dabbing with two colours to give a marbled effect and my favourite splatting.  The bottle inks used were totally turquoise and spode blue with powder blue and sea blue pigment ink pads.  Stamps used were double daisy which comes in two sizes and the tripple butterfly set.  The tags stamp and colour beautifully and are also available from the Oak House Studio shop.

The tripple butterfly set was used on this card, I used all three elements, wording and butterfly.  The butterfly was shadow stamped onto some Papermill blue card using sea blue pigment ink, the butterfly was stamped onto white card, coloured with a little pigment ink and fussy cut before placing over a stamped butterfly.  The ribbon was stamped using sea blue pigment ink too. 

For my third project I made a calendar, the base was stamped onto pale blue card with the double daisy in powder blue pigment ink and then outlined with a pen.  The back was done the same with the addition of a simple sentiment stamp in yummy chocolate pigment ink.  The panel was coloured with spode blue ink, doodled round and the triple butterfly stamp.

Felt Textured Ivory Card Offer

Still on my holidays so fingers crossed this post has published!  This  week's special offer from Papermilldirect is a wonderful ivory 300gm embossed felt card.   The weight and texture are wonderful, here is what I made with it.

As this beautiful card resembles watercolour card I wanted a watercolour effect on these under the sea subjects.  I stamped the seahorse and shells (Crafty Individuals C1-272) in Archival sepia and coloured them with a brush, water and antique photo distress ink with a little spiced marmalade added to the 3D seahorse and shell.  The seahorse and shells were masked before creating the sea with a Memory Box stencil and broken glass distress ink.  As I had the sewing machine out (the granddaughter wants me to make her a dress with some lovely butterfly fabric she saw the other day) the zigzag stitching was added and some sequins for sparkle.

For this card I used a technique from one of Tim's tags, distress paint, ink and stain for the background and distress markers for the watercololuring on the dragonfly.  Stamps are from Stampers Anonymous.

Buff coloured leather effect card

Good morning blogland, some fabulous card on offer this week over at Papermilldirect, another leather embossed card in a fabulous buff colour.

I couldn't wait to use this card.  As we are heading towards the end of the school year I chose to make a "Thank You " card and school satchel gift bag to thank a special teacher.

The satchel was a free download from www.card-making-downloads.com and is a template designed by All About You.  I cut out the template and used my sewing machine to stitch round the edges before sticking the pieces together.  The buckles were die cut using a Sizzix die.  The edges of the satchel were brushed with a little antique photo distress ink.

The card was made with Papermilldirect smooth ivory card, post box red, teal, orange, fresh green and of course the wonderful buff leather embossed offer card.  I made a clipboard,  added some torn paper with scribbles and an A+ and added a circle and a star.  I used the slip in pocket from the satchel for the greeting and cut out the arrows in the different coloured cards using a Tim Holtz die.  Using a Memory Box stencil and faded jeans distress ink I created the inks splats and edged the card with vintage photo distress ink.  The clipboard and embellishments were then fixed to the card.
