One Stamp Weekend Over At Oak House Studio

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend, I am joining in the One Stamp Event over at Oak House Studio.  I have been playing with the double daisy stamp and made this four way swing card.  There is a tutorial for a similar card on the Splitcoast Stamper site which can be found HERE.   The double daisy works so well as the center for this card.

I also made this gift bag and tag using a similar technique to a box I made at the beginning of the week using the double daisy stamp set.  This is such a versatile stamp, this project is simple stamping, embossing and paper piecing , there are details of  the materials used and how the two projects were put together on the Oak House Studio Blog.

There are two ways to win a goodie bag too, visit the blog and leave a comment on all or any of the DT posts this weekend or post a project yourself to the inkspired by Oak House Studio facebook page.

Only 48 Christmas Cards To Go!

Good evening everyone, I know you are probably fed up with Christmas card but here I am today with three Christmas cards which I made for Karin's weekly challenge to make a Christmas card a week over at Only Christmas Cards/projects facebook page.   If you get to the bottom of this post there are details of this weekend's One Stamp Event, check out the blog and facebook pages for chance to win some Oak House Studio goodies.

Starting on 11th January until 11th December we are challenged to make a Christmas card each week , at the end of the year Karin will have a draw and one lucky person will win a prize.  The facebook page has details.
This sounds like a good idea as by the end of the year all my Christmas cards will be made, but lets see if I make it to the end of the year!

I have already posted my week one, two and three, here they are.

One for the children (need to make some more of these).  The reindeer were cut on the Silhouette using a cutting file from their store.

One of my favourite Santa stamps, a quick CAS card using distress inks,  Oak House Studio snowflake stamps, Stampers Anonymous papillion and a freebie sentiment stamp.

I used a free stamp from Crafter's Companion and a Sizzix Tim Holtz  Alterations letterpress debossing folder Christmas to make this card, coloured with pencils.  Thought I would miss the deadline for week three but had a moment of inspriation last night and came up with this one.

Well off now to get on with this weeks One Stamp Event over at Oak House Studio, why not come and join us.  Details on the inkspired by Oak House Studio facebook page and the Oak House Studio facebook page.  Check out their blog too for the design team members' cards and project throughout the weekend, comment and like the posts for a chance to win some goodies.

Valentine Gift Box and Tag

Hello to all my friends and followers, hope you have all been keeping warm this week during the cold spell.  Nothing for it but to stay in and keep warm and craft,  the weather here has warmed up now but still a little wet.

Here is my weekly papermilldirect design team make, this week we are concentrating on Valentine gift bags and boxes.  You can also win a bundle box of spring coloured card over the next few days by liking and commenting on the papermilldirect facebook page.  So get over there, like and comment because the winner will be picked on Wednesday 27th January

For my valentine makes this year I have a liking for red, buff and black colours, more suited for the man in your life than red, pink and girly.  Maybe I will try some red, pink and girly next week, we will see.

I made this box using my Scor-Pal, it is rather satisfying scoring some lines, cutting some tabs and putting together a box.  I used papermilldirect buff card on which I stamped Oak House Studio's double daisy stamp and embossed with their red embossing powder.  I also stamped and embossed three  daisies onto papermilldirect Christmas red card and cut them out to paperpiece some of the daisies on the box.  The daisies were masked and hearts from the PaperArtsy Eclectica3 stamp set were stamped over the box and a heart stencil was used with vermillian pigment ink to fill in the bare patches.

The lid was lined with red card with a little showing below the lid edge and the handle was attached with brads which had been coloured red with embossing powder.

The tag was cut using Sizzix Tim Holtz  Elisse tags die, it was stamped and paperpieced the same as the box.

Faux Letterpress Technique - Dry and Heat Embossing

My second blog post today with my papermilldirect DT card.  Embossing is the theme this week and I have used both dry and heat embossing on this faux letterpress card.

Materials I used:
  • Papermilldirect Ivory linen, post box red and navy card
  • Crafter's Companion embossing folder
  • Versamark embossing ink pad
  • Oak House Studio red embossing powder
  • Brayer
  • Dies - hearts Sizzix, Cherry Lynne border, Die-namics fishtail flags
  • Stamp - Stampers Anonymous simple sentiments

I matted a piece of navy card to the front of an ivory card blank and layered the faux letterpress background on top, added a die cut strip, two embossed hearts and a sentiment to finish the card.

Try different embossing folders and try inking the opposite side of the folder for a completely different look.

Putting Papermilldirect White Cardstock To The Test

Hello friends, followers and all passing through.   I have been trying out some masterboard techniques on papermilldirect plain and textured cardstock this week and the results have been excellent.  Check out my blog post over at papermilldirect's blog to find out what inky/painty products I used on their white smooth, linen, hammered and pearlised cardstock.

Here are the five masterboards I made all ready to cut up and use in my cardmaking.

Just a reminder that it is the Oak House Studio One Stamp Event on 30th and 31st January, the stamp we will be using for this event is the Double Daisy stamp which was used on the above masterboard with linen cardstock and brushos.

    My Heart Is Yours Valentine

Good morning all, a quick CAS valentine card from me today using Oak House Studio stamps and papermilldirect buff, light cream ivory linen and post box red card.  The stamps used are from the texture squares stamp set which will be featured on Oak House Studio's Hochanda TV show on Wednesday January 20th at 11am and 3pm.  There are  new stamps being showcased too, so dont forget to tune in on Freeview 39.

The texture squares were designed with clay  jewellery in mind but work equally well in journaling and card making. The two swirl stamps were lined up on a stamping block and stamped onto buff card using black ink.  A heart was cut from post box red card and stamped with the rose design in black.   My heart words from a Hot Picks stamp set was stamped in vermillion pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The heart was edged with a little hickory smoke distressed ink and added to the card with 3D sticky fixers.  A red mat was attached to a cream card blank and the buff stamped card layered onto it.

Check out the Oak House Studio blog where you will find more cards from the design team showcasing the stamps to be featured on the TV shows.

Happy New Year and a New Baby Card From Me

This is my first post for 2016, I should have posted last week but events overtook me so Happy New Year everyone, hope you had a good Christmas and are looking forward to what the New Year brings.

Today I have a new baby congratulations card made with papermilldirect's latest offer, A4 mustard yellow 290gsm card a small box for £4.40 whilestocks last.

I used the mustard yellow card to make a card blank and stamped the bear image, which is from Indigoblu Brideshead A5 stamp set, onto a small square of the mustard card  The sentiment was stamped onto the large banner and the edges of the banner and the image were blended with distress ink.  The stamped image was layered onto a square of navy card,  and the various elements attached to the card.

A very quick CAS card which I will use the design again but alter the position of the various elements and colours.
