Not all Black & White

After a slow start I am now back in the swing of things and the ideas are coming thick and fast.  There are one or two challenges I want to get involved in this year, one is the Craft Barn altered dictionary challenge and I would love to join the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013 challenge if I can keep up for a full year!!

The challenge at Less is more this week is "Black & White" with a hint of one other colour.  This CAS card fits the bill, I am also entering it in the Allsorts challenge with a theme "CAS".

Using a stamp set I bought on my trip to Leeds in December - Craftwork Cards Graceful Grasses & Birdcages - The grasses and two birds were stamped across the bottom of the card and two bird cages stamped to hang from the top of the card.  I stamped one of the birdcages on a spare piece of card, cut it out and 3D it on the card.  The pink colour detail was added using a paintbrush and a distress ink pad.

I have a second card I am just finishing which, if I have time, may be entered too.

New Dawn, New Day a little more concentration!

This is another entry for the Passion for Promarkers Challenge, I managed to sit and work on the idea of dawn being "a new day" to fit the New Beginnings theme.

Having rummaged through all my stamps looking for some inspiration I came up with a Judikins Cube "Africa" with a lovely sunrise, this gave me the idea and also the opportunity to use my sunray embossing folder.

Promarkers have to be used for this challenge, I wanted a water colour effect on the stamp but I only have Promarkers so I scribbled on a wax sheet, added some blending solution to the colours and painted them onto the image.  The sun and reflection were clear embossed and the image mounted onto a small square which was edged with amber promarker.  The sunray was embossed on card and coloured with promarkers in tulip yellow and amber, a greeting was printed, edged with amber, and fastened under the sunray the image was fastened with 3D sticky fixers.  I lightly coloured round the edge of the panel with pale blue chalk.  The panel was then mounted on a card which had the outside edge coloured with blue promarker.

Another dull slightly misty day here today, not ideal for photos but I think they give a fair representation of the card.

Passion for Promarkers

A new year at the Passion for Promarkers Challenge Blog, the first challenge of the year is New Beginnings.

This is a celebrate the beginning of the New Year card.   Another minimalistic card, the cocktails are computer generated using a dingbat font and coloured with Promarkers?

I am trying to get back into the swing of things after Christmas but am finding it difficult to settle down to doing anything, the table is full of stamps, inks and bits so hopefully the ideas will start coming soon!!
