Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - The Letter "A" for Applique

Good morning everyone,  before I go any further I would like to say a big thank you to all who left comments on my last dictionary page (and all the others come to that) thank you all your comments are all read and appreciate.

Another Craft Barn Alpha Challenge done, this fortnight's letter is "A", and my chosen word is Applique.  Applique makes me think of childrens' cot and bed covers (I have some beautiful ones from when the grandchildren were small) so I opted for pastel colourings.

The pages were covered with gesso and coloured with DIs in broken china, worn lipstick and crushed olive.  I stamped over the pages with stitching stamps in the same colours.  This time round I wanted to try some texture paste, so flower stencil in hand I gave it a go.  When it was dry I painted the flowers with DIs.
The applique elements were cut out of patterned papers, backed into some plain paper and sewn round as you would with material, they were then stuck to the page.

The Alpha challenge seems to come round so quickly, I always seem to be at the last minute getting it done but I am enjoying playing about with it and look forward to Sunday's new letter!
