The challenge at Anything but a Card is "From or By the Sea or Inspiration Picture" which you can find here. My entry is a tag in blues and greens with a red/orange sea horse and sandy coloured net.
The tag was cut from pearl card and coloured with Ranger distress inks in evergreen bow and broken china, the shells were stamped randomly over the tag in evergreen bow. The seahorse was stamped onto a small piece of pearl card, coloured with promarkers and clear embossed and the background coloured with broken china distress ink.
I had some beaded net from an old blouse which I used to decorate the tag, hoping to make it look like a fishing net. The net is covered in shell buttons and copper beads in the shape of what I think look like starfish (I do have a wild imagination). The seahorse was placed near the net and extra starfish added to the net. The ribbons were twited to give the impression of seaweed.

ReplyDeleteSylv this is really beautiful. Full of texture, perfect colours and the seahorse is wonderful. I think you were very clever to include the net with buttons, beads etc. It makes me think instantly of small shells and creatures. Your project is so perfect for our theme this time. Thank you so much for joining us at Anything But A Card and I do hope we'll see you again soon.
