Playing With The Gelli Plate and a Tutorial

Hi everyone, and thanks for popping by to check out my post.  I bought a Gelli Plate two years ago and it has remained unused until a few week ago when I thought I would have a play.  I started messing around with distress inks, stencils and stamps, and was amazed how easy it was to make background prints for cardmaking and mixed media projects.   You can find my DT tutorial for using the Gelli Plate over on the papermilldirect blog.

I used the print I made to make a card. The print was cut to size and the edges blended with ripe persimmon distress ink.  Dots were added to the print with a white pen. The flowers were stamped and white embossed, coloured and fussy cut and attached to the card.  The panel was then matted and layered onto papermilldirect Lustre Print Gold 300gsm in magenta and  smooth black card, and then onto a hemp textured large square card blank.

The picture above shows part of a tag made using the same technique but using textured card to print onto. Papermilldirect's textured cards take colour from the Gelli Plate very well.

I am completely hooked and will be doing much more with the Gelli Plate in the future.
