Good afternoon friends, followers and passers by, another post from me today this time a birthday card for my daughter-in-law. I was playing around with a set of stamps which came free with a magazine, a doily stamp from Papermania and some kraft card, and came up with this querky card.
The doily was stamped directly onto the kraft card and embossed with white powder, the image was stamped in brown Stazon, some areas bleached out and then fussy cut. A piece of spotty paper (spare from running off some Sarah Hurley digi papers) was layered onto cream card and stitched in place. This was decorated with sequins, pearls and a zigzag paper strip. The patterned strip was added over the doily and the image added using sticky fixers then the sentiment stamped to finish. I added a spotty patterned insert with a greeting and a few sequins and a strip of zigzag paper.
I was quite pleased with the end result I started to make another, inadvertently I used clear embossing powder instead of white, I continued on using a pink spotty strip which had gone wrong too (wonky sewing) and coloured the image instead of bleaching. I bleached out some of the doily area and spattered some bleach on the card just to see what it look like. I may add some fine glitter as well later. Another version of the card using bits from my mistakes box, just made for fun.
Time seems to be running away with me again I must get down to some serious crafting there are so many things I wanted to complete before the end of July but here we are August 1st tomorrow and I still have a pile of unfinished work on my desk!
Gorgeous card, simple but very classy and elegant xx
