Good afternoon friends, family and anyone popping in to take a look. Save the date and weddings are our theme today on the papermilldirect blog, quick and easy wedding invitations can be made with just a few supplies and here is what I made while away on holiday last week using pretty shades of tissue paper to colour my cards. For anyone who has not seen this simple technique al you have to do is cut out tissue shapes, place on your card and wet with a little water, when dry lift tissue away to reveal the coloured shape.
Here is a save the date card and invitation using papermill direct's special offer ivory long grain cardstock and cream paper with a little raspberry pink card for contrast.
I used the tissue paper technique to apply the hearts to my card and overstamped with a PaperArtsy minis text stamp. The ivory long grain card is a soft textured card ideal for this technique as it took the colour from the tissue paper superbly.
The save the date matchbook card was lined with cream paper and overstamped with the text stamp, a calender was mounted onto raspberry card and added to the inside with the date highlighted in pink. The cream card is a lovely weight, ideal for printing your wedding card inserts.
I had fun over the last three weeks seeing what I could make with just a few craft supplies. What do you take with you to do when away? I took some inks, stamps, blending brushes, card and had a trip to Hobbycraft for a few embelishments. I was pleased with my makes but am glad to be back to my craft room full of wonderful things, really missed the die cutters and wide range of stamps and inks.
this is beautiful and a great idea Sylv
