Daring Cardmakers "Travelogue" Challenge

Hello friends, followers and family.  Great news to share with you today after my month as guest designer at The Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog I have been asked to join the lovely ladies on the design team, I am thrilled and look forward to contributing to the blog on a permanent basis.
This week's host is Kathy with her challenge "Travelogue", all things related to travel, cruise liners, planes, postcards, exotic places, holidays, packing, photos etc.  For inspiration go over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog and check out the design team creations.  You will also find the link to add your cards to enter the challenge.

I had my distress inks at the ready and lots of stencils, dies and stamps relating to travel.  I used a papermilldirect white hammered side fold card blank as my base, a background made using distress inks, stamps and stencils on white linen card 255gsm, cream vellum plain card 290gsm for the tickets, fleck kraft card 250gsm for the wallet and black plain 250gsm for layering.  The postcard was stamped onto card and cut out, I then stamped a travel stamp (Rome) onto the postcard and coloured it with distress inks.  Tim Holtz travel related stamps were stamped onto the background before adding the travel montage.

I cut out the Sizzix "Stitched Slots" die, backed it with buff card to hold all my travel tickets and attached the stamped Bon Voyage plaque.  I filled the wallet with tickets which were stamped and die cut with Sizzix Tim Holts Ticket Booth stamps and dies, some Papermainia "All Aboard" stickers and a metal tag.

I hope my card has inspired you to enter a "travel" themed card into our challenge, details can be found HERE.

Sylv xx

  12. Fab collection of tickets in the slots of the “wallet”, a lovely take on the travel theme with a real feel of the ephemera a trip can generate (especially one in the era before so much was done electronically!).
